5. Podcast
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/4977678.stm
This podcast is a recorded version of the news shown by BBC available for download to people that may not have been able to watch it. This gives immediacy (4), from the technology. The podcasts brand BBC for what they do and keep viewers to remain loyal to this particular news broadcaster. Each week a selection of podcasts are available to be a downloaded, which each focus on one main topic for example one is focused on "parliament today". Podcasting is a good example of Narrowcasting (17) as people that are interested in other thinks can watch just what they are into.
The audiences from these podcasts seem to mainly be targeted at adults of both genders as they focus more on parliamentary issues. The kind of people that would use this service would be those who do not get home in time from work to watch the news, and can use podcasting as an alternative to finding out the latest information.
The fact that podcasts such as the BBC collection is Time Shifted (8) media means that it can be accessed at any time. This is also an example of democratisation (10) as many people that do not have access to a television can watch the same news broadcasts from the web.
